Herd Bull Prospects
FSSR Shocked Explosion
Percy is a great example of calving ease! He is in the top 1% of the breed for calving ease, and 4% of the breed for birthweight. His sire is Shell Shocked, and his dam is a Club King x Upgrade female that throws a good one every year. His actual birth weight was 58 pounds, weaning weight of 562 at 163 days (grass only), and yearling weight if 1065. We showed him in the South Central Regional Simmental show in mid-June, where he was the 5th high bull overall. He was just shown at Ash Grove fair, where he won Champion Simmental Bull.
FSSR Optimum Spade
Talk about STOUT STOUT STOUT! Look at the growth EPD's on this bull! Stacking Upgrade on the dam side and HPF Optimizer on the sire side made this boy GROW! At 288 days gestation, he was 93 pounds and weaned off at 174 days of age at 601 pounds! If you are looking for a bull to increase your weaning and yearling weights, he is one to use! He is in the top 4% of the breed for weaning weight, yearling weight, ADG, and carcass weight! To top it off, he has a white face!
FSSR King George
George is sired by HPF Optimizer and out of a Pacesetter daughter . He had a birth weight of 75 pounds, weaned off at 670 pounds at 197 days old, and just continues to grow! Take a look at his EPD's, he is in the top 20% for calving ease, birth weight, ADG, and rib eye! To top it off, he has a great disposition! Pictured is his dam as a heifer
FSSR Upperclass King
King is the result of an embryo purchase from Silent Night Farms out of TX, and we just LOVE his dam! King weighed 93 pounds at birth (his recip dam always has big calves), and weaned off at 658 pounds at 206 days old. He is super deep, like his flush sister, who is pictured here.
FSSR Pays To Burn
We call him Cinder, but he is burning hot! Cinder is out of a very fertile cow, who had Cinder at 31 months old and weaned him off just after her 3rd birthday, and he is her second calf! He himself is no slouch, winning Reserve Grand Champion Percentage bull at our big district fair in the junior show, and Reserve Champion in his division in the open show! Not bad for a 7 month old bull. He was 88 pounds at birth, and weaned off at 658 pounds at 197 days of age. Add some color to your crop with this good bull.
FSSR Burnin' Bandwagon
Thor, as we like to call him, earned his name because of his massive bone and foot size! This is another embryo bull we raised, and we are keeping his flush sister in the herd for future use as a cow. This guy was weaned just a few days before our district fair, and he went on to claim Reserve Champion Purebred Bull in the junior show. Pretty impressive. He is horned, but we think he can offer some great genetics to a herd so we left him a bull. His birth-weight was 96 pounds, but he was two weeks late and one of our biggest recips gave birth to him.
